Three weeks in Alaska, is it ever enough? Maybe! Heidi & I just returned from Alaska and at the end of 3-weeks it was good to be home..  We didn’t do a lot of site seeing on this trip. We were trying to just lay around and visit with the grandchildren.  We did spend a day in Seward, Homer and Anchorage. However we should have planned 2 days for Seward. Seward had a Music & Arts fetival going on. Crafts from the local boroughs were on display and to purchase.  Music was provided by the local bands in the area. You could also vote for the one you enjoyed the most. The Kasilof Mercantile is a very busy place, we stopped there everyday. It’s where Destiny and Rocky work along with Rocky’s parents Bob & Mary Laster. The store has just about everything you need. We were there in the off season (thank goodness) but its hard to imagine the place being busier as there is always a line to the checkouts. The store has a cafe, grocery store, hardware store, fishing tackle and video store. You can also call or stop in and get a great pizza or icecream sundae to go. Welcome Exit Glacier above was one of the places I really wanted to see again while we were there. It was amazing to see how much it has melted since 2007.  It looked about half the size. No global warming here !! Bob and Mary finally got thier house done on South Coho Loop.  It has a great view of the Ocean from every room in the house. They designed it so they could turn it into a Bed & Breakfast house later on. If they ever do this will be a great place to stay. © Videos and pictures are the property of Buddy Heidemann 2011 Heidemann.tv Made with Xara
